The first Scottish Fencing coach education weekend of 2026 is taking place on Saturday 28th February 2026 & Sunday 1st March 2026
This will be held at:
Salle Ossian Fencing Club
4 Riverview Business park
Friarton Rd
Perth
PH2 8DF
The times for the weekend are as follows:
Saturday - 10am to 5pm
Sunday - 10am to 4pm
As part of this weekend, there will be some additional opportunities included for coaches. On the Saturday between 12pm & 1pm, Brent Myers from Solution Riposte will be holding a presentation over lunch for interested coaches, with pizza being provided!
Then in the afternoon on the Saturday, Gil Stenvenson will be delivering a Strength & Conditioning for Fencing Workshop to coaches between 1:15pm & 4:45pm.
The Sunday will then be a full day with our excellent tutors supporting you on your coaching journey.
This weekend will include our Level 1 assistant coach award. This course is aimed at those aged 16-18 or coaches over 18 that are just starting out.
The Level 2 coach award and level 3 coach award are available, as is attending for CPD.
The new level 1 & 2 courses have online content to complete pre and post course on the sportscotland Brightspace platform, support and assistance will be given as required.
Coaching U18s - Important information
If you are intending to work with under 18s we will not issue your certificate until you have either joined the PVG scheme through Scottish Fencing or if you are already a PVG member had a scheme udpate through Scottish Fencing. If you have a PVG membership or scheme update we will issue your certificate as soon as fees and paperwork are submitted.
Please note it is an offence for anyone to coach under18s without a PVG certificate gained through Scottish Fencing. The committee who have allowed this to happen will also be criminally liable.
