CFFC SELECTION UPDATE

Attached below is the May update of the a running total of the BF ranking points scored by Scottish fencers since the selection period for the Commonwealth Fencing Federation Championships (CFFC) began on 1 July 2017.

The British Youth Championships took place at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield last weekend. The competition seen over 1000 competitors compete over 24 different age groups and categories.

The overall result for the 2018 Veterans 4 Nations match was as follows

  1. England - 21 points
  2. Scotland - 18 points
  3. Ireland - 12 points
  4. Wales - 9 points

Meaning that England retains the Justin Smith Trophy.

Scottish Fencing is today publishing the findings of a recent consultation exercise, conducted by the sports consultancy “Growing Sport”.

The Consultancy was tasked to gather feedback and offer recommendations around four key areas of: Membership growth, SwordMark, Club Development and Talent Development.

These lists show a running total of the BF ranking points scored by Scottish fencers up to 31 March 2018 since the selection period for the Commonwealth Fencing Federation Championships (CFFC) began on 1 July 2017. I apologise that the February update did not appear.

The following fencers are selected for the 2018 Cadet and Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships. Congratulations to all. The Team Manager will contact these athletes soon.

Please note all selections are subject to appeals and to British Fencing disciplinary checks.
