Scottish Fencing are running an intensive coach development course to allow coaches to work towards coach qualifications and to explore new methods for developing competitive fencing.

Suitable for coaches working with fencers at any age and stage, we will be exploring the use of modern coaching methods and how they can be successfully applied to fencing.  Specifically we will be covering:

2019 Dunblane Fencing Club - summer camp

Dunblane fencing camp is from 13th to 16th August from 10-4 each day for experienced fencers and 10-12 each day for beginners.  The camp will focus on epee and foil and will consist of games, fitness, mental preparation, scenario training and sparring.  The camp will be led by UKCC qualified coaches, registered with British Fencing.    

Armoury Course

This is a full-day course will cover everything a fencer, parent, or new club armourer will need to learn in order to repair and maintain personal and club fencing equipment. A must for all competitive fencers and club armourers. You can book your place HERE

First Aid Training

This course is a Level 6 qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work. It lasts for 3 years and is a nationally recognised qualification. Certificates are awarded by First Aid Awards a national awarding body. 

This qualification is a requirement for coaches and Team Managers. All coaches and TMs must attend a refresher course every three years. 

Wallace Fencing Academy - training and coaching

Extra-long Training Day and Coaching

The Wallace coaches will be using these days to collaborate and develop their coaching with Professor Bracewell. Other coaches are more than welcome to come along and join us.

 

Fencers cost £15 and Coaches £20 including lunch and coffee/tea/snacks through the day.

2019 May Talent Development Day - cancelled

 The Talent Day at Strathallan this Sunday is cancelled! Sorry for the short notice. Instead the coach course will be held at Salle Ossian on both days. Any fencers wishing to train can come to Salle Ossian and work with the coaches. There is no charge.
