Double medal glory for Viv Frith

Viv Frith has won the first medals for Scotland, gaining Bronze in the overall Ladies Sabre and Gold in her age-group, regaining the title she won in 2009 in Jersey. Well done to Viv, and good luck to all the squad in the next days' events.

This is the sixth year of the Veterans 4 Nations to compete for the Justin Smith Trophy, which this year is in Leeds at the Royal Armouries.
The competition is all 6 weapons fenced in team relays to 45 points. Fencers may only fence in one weapon team unless, for a particular country, there are not enough fencers available to do so.

Scottish Veterans Team - Selection Criteria

Weapon Captains are appointed by the Scotland Veterans Team Manager and are eligible to fence if they meet the selection criteria. They select team members based on results achieved in the 12 months prior to the event, as at 2, 3 or 4 months (see below*) before the event, with those results weighted by - initially - external bodies, then by how tough the competition was. So, candidates for selection will be ranked as follows:
