Youth International Qualifiers

Scottish Fencing and The Foundation for Scottish Fencing are running a series of competitions for under 15 and under 13 fencers in 2016-17 again. We will use these to select fencers for Challenge Wratislavia in March (and potentially one other foreign competition if the Youth Weapon Coordinators can find a suitable option).

2015 Scottish Secondary Schools Individual Fencing Championships

There will be competitions for Boys and Girls Foil, Epee and Sabre in three age categories: Under 14, Under 16 and over 16. There is a Master at Arms award for fencers who enter all three weapons. And there are trophies for the Best Boys' and Best Girls' School.

The cost to enter is £22 for a single weapon and £32 to enter two or three weapons.

2015 Winton Cup; Section Team competition

The Winton Cup is a two day 6 weapon tournament where regions fight to become the UK regional champion.   For 2015, Scotland is eligible to field two teams Atlantic'- North/West Section and 'North Sea' - Central/ East Section. Scottish Fencing Academy 2015

Happy New Year Scottish Fencer!

We are delighted to announce that the first Scottish Fencing Academy training day will be on Sunday 18th January, probably in St Anne’s HS, Dunfermline (to be confirmed).

Commonwealth Fencing Championships 2014

The Commonwealth Fencing Championships (both Senior Open & Veteran events) are being held in Largs between the 10th and 15th November for the Seniors and the 16th and 19th November for the Veterans event.  

U15 Selection Round 1 Challenge Wratislavia

The venue for the selection competition on 1 November is now confirmed as Dunfermline High School.

Background

Scottish Open: change of date

The 2015 Scottish Open Fencing Tournament will now take place on the weekend 24-25 January 2015, not on 3-4 January as was previously announced. Further details will appear soon.

Commonwealth Junior & Cadet Fencing Championships 2015

The Commonwealth Junior & Cadet Championships 2015 to be held in Capetown, South Africa have now been confirmed for the 11th to the 17th July 2015 with registration to occur on the 10th.  

Selection criteria for the Scottish teams will be published shortly.

Edinburgh Open 2015: advance notice

Edinburgh Fencing Club have asked us to announce the date of the next Edinburgh Open tournament: 14/15 March 2015.

Epee and sabre events will take place on Saturday 14 March, foil events on Sunday 15 March. We have not been given the competition venue yet but on past form it's likely to be in Edinburgh.
